I had to write this review in response to a review i read on this restaurant. I've been going to this Restaurant, for moore than 15 years on a weekly basis. By far this is the BEST fish and chips anywhere.portions are huge the batter is lite and deliscious, fries are out of this world, the gravy is home made mmmm-yummy. and they also make their own vinegar. The prices are very very resonable. I have never been dispointed. We always bring our out of town guests, who now request a REAL fish and chips everytime they come to visit. keep up the great work Newfoundland's. See you Friday again again......
I disagree with many of the reviews. This is by far the worse fish and chips that we have ever had in our lives. The food was drenched in grease, the batter was totally tasteless and overwhelmed the fish, which was very dry. The fries were limp and greasy. Plastc packets of plain tartar sauce was the only codiment. Never again!
Excellent service. Fish was real, not processed. Friendly staff, said it was Haddock. Fresh cut fries. Very quick considering how busy they were. I know Ive found my fish and chip place.
I thought the fish was not flaky and tender it was more rubbery and over cooked and had no taste and i had no clue what kind of fish i was eating it doesnt tell you on the sign .the gravy was chunky and not very tastefull, and the fries were ok to greasy for me i would not go back thier waste of money and the place was not very clean.
My husband and I discovered this place by mistake.[we got lost] But now we have found Welland. The BEST Fish and Chips, we have EVER had in our lives. Fish is one of our favorite meals. We been to Europe, the east coast, the west coast, absolutley nothing compares to the way this fish and chips taste. Everytime we come to the Niagara Region now. We always include Newfoundland's as our Own Fish and Chips Choice. TRY IT YOU'LL LOVE IT.
