I live near Queen and Spadina and have had some difficulty with finding decent low-medium priced sushi. Toshi is across from where I take spin class and I noticed that the sign indicated that the chef was Japanese so I decided to try it out. I found the fish to be fresh, the restaurant to be clean and the service to be attentive. They service appropriately sized rolls and nigiri, as opposed to the giant pieces that many other establishments serve (this is a good think IMO). Overall, very good meal and I think I will be frequenting Toshi a great deal. Lire plus
I found this place to be better decorated than some of its other location. There are booths on the far right side. There are also two large round tables for larger parties. Near the center of the restaurant is a fish aquarium. The lighting is a bit dimmer. This restaurant does look a bit ancient. However, the food is good. I love its crispy spring rolls. Service varies time to time. Lire plus

Katsura is tucked away in a separate, but connected, building right beside the main building of the Prince Hotel. The food here is very good but only slightly better than the cheaper places in the area. The teppanyaki tables are good. The sushi is fresh. The prices are high and the portions are not particularly large. So why would someone choose this place over its cheaper competitors? It's the decor and the service that makes this place stand out. From the moment you step in out of the snow, you are surrounded by tasteful Japanese decor. In the main dining area, the place is elegant, simple and to the point. The design allows large groups to eat in semi-isolation. This is the restaurant you impress your dining partner, be it a business meeting or a first date. Lire plus
Nobo created probably the best contemporary Japanese fusion restaurants in all of Toronto. from the starter, drink, to even the dessert - a must try experience. Even the location is a blend of Japanese reliance on word of mouth in a indescreet area If you can call Caddys as a Canadian landmark. Try the Pizza. She even uses the Tatami server. Lire plus
