Been coming here for years. I dont know who wrote that last review but they must have a screw loose. What would you expect if you tried to get a table for 7 people on a saturday nite without a reservation when the place is lined up. We had a great time, the food was good and the service was adequate considering how busy the place was. The lineup indicated they are doing something right. Excellent meal. Service was great - waitress was fun and checked on us every so often to see how we were doing. Food? Delicious! My burger was great, and the rest of my family thought good of the restaurant as well. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The old-fashioned chalkboard written deals and combos scattered across the restaurant felt like good-old home. I tell you all, this is my new FAVORITE place to eat. I had a bite of chicken fingers, too -- HeAvEnLy! If you decide to dine here, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it! I visited last night for the first time for a friends birthday party I have to say the atmosphere was very nice the food was good the only downfall being a disabled person is with the washrooms be in downstairs. I’ve been to Dog and Bear many times. It’s a traditional British style pub. It’s laid back and chill, not a place for an event but definitely a place to hang out with the friends and grab some pints. Football(soccer) lovers as owners the screens always have good matches on during the season. I was in Shakey's a year ago and it has completely changed, I visited recently with some girlfriends and we had a fantastic meal. The owner has renovated the entire place to give it a 2010 pub look and has still kept the theme of a sports bar. Good job on the reno's, the menu looks great with some of the typical sports pub food such as nachos, hamburgers and wings. However the rest of the menu is quite amazing, from my understanding the waitress mentioned that Chris is a new addition to the staff and is the brother of the owner. He actually is coming from fine dining and is now helping run the kitchen. I will be back again and this time were bringing our husbands. Lire plus

After a movie date we were trying to get into one of the places beside the movie theatre but the wait was too long. One of the party suggested the Galway Arms close by. I've never been and I surprised to have a place with good food, service and atmosphere in the area that I hadn't heard of. And I hear its been there for 20 years too!!! We all ordered something different from the menu so we could try different things. Nachos to start - nice big portion with lots of veggies and with lots of cheese. We discovered that the Irish Stew, Shephards Pie, Burgers and Steak and Mushroom Pie were all homemade - so different from the ones you get elsewhere and you could choose if you wanted fries, salad, mashed potatoes or soup with your order. I had the Louisiana Chicken Wrap which was very tasty but its a very large portion so you'll have lunch for tomorrow. Everything was hot and really good and large enough that some of us took leftovers home. Those that didn't cleared our plates!!!!! We were divided on the fries as not all of us were big fans of the hand cut fries but those that did like them loved them - soaked in vinegar. Our server remembered everything (including all of the weird requests) without writing it down and everything came out exactly as ordered. She gave us very prompt service and was naturally friendly to us and even took time to talk to one of the guys who was thinking of a trip to Ireland by telling him when the flights would be cheaper, ideal times to visit, places in Dublin to visit etc. We've decided to make this our after movie treat from now on and look forward to the patio in the summer.
