This is truly one of the best Mexican restaurants around. The atmosphere is simple and as stated in other reviews, the seating is limited. The service was relatively fast and pleasant. What we ordered is listed below. Everything was fresh, delicious and the platters were balanced and well presented. It is clear that there is an underlying culinary passion at this restaurant that is rarely found these days. Reasonable prices make this an ideal spot for lunch or dinner. I've been to this restaurant twice now and both times the food has been great. But I was there with my husband's family last night for my father-in-law's birthday. My mother-in-law had brought a birthday cake to the restaurant and had asked them to bring it out as a surprise when it was time for dessert. Everything was going great until the server informed my mother-in-law (just before they were about to bring his birthday cake out) that we would be charged $10 just for them to bring it out! We said forget it, and we took the cake home and had it there! We would have ordered coffees and cafe au laits to go with the cake, so they certainly would have made at least another $20 off of that, but it's their loss I guess. So to summarize, the food was excellent as usual, but we were very disappointed that they wouldn't accommodate our birthday cake with out a steep charge - it left a bad taste in our mouth. Lire plus
